Former BBC war correspondent Kate Adie speaks of being emotionally engaged in the craft of reporting. She is passionate about the role of journalists serving as witnesses, informing others about world events. That sense of conviction may also make one a better journalist, according to Adie, who wrote in her autobiography, THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS: “Caring about what you see may well be the key to good reporting, for it means you look closer, and you look to find out why.
